Simplifying global workshop service navigation through interactive digital design for ABB
ABB’s Drives Service Workshops (DSW) offer high-quality solutions to keep industrial operations running sustainably and efficiently. However, with seven distinct service options and a vast global network, presenting this information in a static format can be overwhelming for the user. Buorre was tasked with creating an interactive brochure that centralizes these resources, providing a clear and intuitive gateway to ABB’s workshop expertise.
The objective was to create a digital tool that helps users identify the exact service they need based on the current condition of their equipment. We aimed to replace dense text blocks with interactive navigation, allowing for a "self-service" discovery process. By collecting important links and technical details into one theme-sorted environment, we wanted to ensure that the customer’s journey from "issue" to "solution" was as fast and frictionless as possible.
We developed the brochure with a focus on guided user experiences through interactive decision-making and global mapping. There were two major interactive elements that supported this.
The Decision Engine: We designed a scenario-based element that asks the user a simple question: "Is your drive functioning correctly?" Based on a "Yes" or "No" answer, the tool instantly highlights the relevant service paths, such as Reconditioning for functioning units or Premium Repair for non-functioning ones. This eliminates guesswork and guides the user directly to the most pertinent information.
Global Workshop Navigator: To visualize ABB’s extensive reach, we built an interactive map featuring global, regional, and local workshop locations. Users can toggle between countries, which are highlighted on the map in real-time, providing an immediate sense of ABB’s local support capabilities.
By using a simple 'Yes/No' decision logic within the interface, we transformed a complex list of seven specialized services into a guided path that provides the user with an immediate, relevant solution
The result is a highly functional digital asset that consolidates the entire DSW portfolio into a single, interactive environment. From detailed failure analysis descriptions to reconditioning details, the brochure makes ABB’s circularity approach and service expertise accessible to everyone. It serves as a definitive reference tool that supports both independent browsing and guided sales conversations, ensuring that technical excellence is always matched by visual clarity.
