In critical infrastructure, from healthcare facilities to food supply chains, cooling is a crucial aspect of reliability. ABB’s wall-mounted R9e drives are engineered for these demanding environments, but communicating their high power density and innovative installation features required a visual narrative that goes beyond a standard spec sheet. Buorre collaborated with ABB to translate these technical advantages into a captivating 3D animation.
The objective was to showcase a range of seven drive products and their specialized accessories within their real-world usage contexts. We aimed to demonstrate the versatility of the mounting options; whether on a wall, skid, or within a cabinet, while highlighting the plug-and-play nature of the new cable connection design. The animation needed to reassure a global audience of the drives' resilience, backed by decades of R&D and a massive support network.
Our process began with deep collaborative workshop sessions to finalize the script provided by ABB. We then moved into visual scripting and the creation of detailed 3D environments, such as mining sites and chiller facilities, to place the products on site. We visualized the intuitive user interface and the innovative wiring section that attaches directly to the drive. This allowed us to clearly demonstrate how the design optimizes thermal management and speeds up the commissioning process for engineers.
The resulting animation is a comprehensive introduction to ABB’s cooling and refrigeration solutions up to 355 kW. It successfully simplifies complex engineering, such as horizontal mounting and flange options, into an easy-to-follow visual journey. The video serves as a powerful global sales tool, reinforcing ABB’s position as a trusted partner in critical infrastructure, backed by a clear visualization of their global service network.
